In response to an ORR recommendation Network Rail is required to plot all their drainage on a GIS system.

DAMS has been designed by Network Rail to be an asset register of all drainage data in the routes. It stores all the nodes and links with associated meta and media data. It allows drainage networks to be connected.

• DAMS is the only end-to-end drainage asset management system created by Network Rail. It has been designed over the past 3 years by Examiners, Engineers, and Managers.
• All inspected drainage is plotted on a GIS platform with an accuracy of up to 500mm.
• DAMS creates a unique XML which is accepted by ELLIPSE (NR’s Asset Management System)
• Can be used on-site on Android or iOS.
• The data is saved in real-time allowing the reviewer drainage champions to have instant access to the reports anywhere in the world.
• High-Resolution aerial maps are populated over the top.
